LEAD RRP TRAINING
To protect against the risk of hazardous lead
dust and chips generated by common renovation
activities like sanding, cutting and demolition;
beginning on April 22, 2010, EPA required that all
firms performing renovation, repair and painting,
and disturb lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes,
child care facilities and schools be certified by EPA.
The EPA rule affects paid renovators who work in pre-1978
housing and child occupied facilities, including:
- Painters
- Specialty Trades
- Property Owners Working in Rental Property
- Maintenance Workers in Multi-Family Housing
Firms involved in this type of activities, must use certified renovators who are trained by EPA approved training providers to follow lead-safe work practices.

Fines for Non-Compliance are up to $37,500 per Violation
